The Kalimatov family enterprise: the arrest of the head of the Nazran Department of Internal Affairs exposed a hierarchy of job-selling and illegal business activity in Ingushetia

The video shows a “modest” house and car fleet belonging to the head of the Nazran Department of Internal Affairs, police colonel Ilez Kalimatov, who was arrested for receiving a “minor” bribe of 500,000 rubles.

According to the source, however, much larger sums of money and more influential figures lie behind this case.

Investigators claim that Kalimatov received 500,000 rubles as a monthly “contribution” in exchange for general patronage of a group involved in illegal extraction of sand and gravel mixtures (SGM) in the republic.

The police officer allegedly informed the perpetrators about upcoming inspections.

During a search of Kalimatov’s home, which he clearly built on a “salary,” operatives reportedly found three foreign-made cars worth around 30 million rubles, as well as jewelry, cash, and other valuables.

Sources say testimony against the police officer was given by those detained in connection with the illegal business. They also claim that the real beneficiary of the operation was a “high-level” figure — Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Magomed Evloev and his brother Akhmed Evloev, who is wanted in a criminal case involving fraud with land plots and illegal SGM extraction.

It is also reported that Deputy Prime Minister Evloev does not act alone, but works in coordination with Gilani Kalimatov — the nephew of Ingushetia’s head, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov. According to reports, this Evloev–Gilani Kalimatov network allegedly influences many processes in the republic, including appointments, the sale of official positions, land issues, and more.

Sources further claim that the head of the republic, when dealing with sensitive issues, directs people to his nephew, suggesting his key role in these decision-making chains.
